It was pretty much clear to me at this moment that iTextSharp library had undergone some considerable changes, and I needed code samples that would work with its latest version. And I was back to square zero, signing a document without being able to verify the signature was pretty much useless. And the signature information was visible when opening the document in a PDF reader.Īs I approched the next step of verifying the signature (with code adapted from here), I was unable to verify the signature successfully even after making numerous revisions to the code. Somehow I assembled code for signing the document which seemed to work fine. As I started adapting the code from these links, I realized many of the classes and methods being invoked were not present in my version of itextsharp.dll assembly. The first of these links was in Java while the second was in. I again turned to Google which threw up this and this link with code samples for signing documents using iTextSharp. I downloaded the latest version (5.3.2 at the time of writing this blog post) but browsing the API up-front was not very meaningful. But I was to be disappointed, as I neither found anything in the API nor googling revealed any such feature in Pdfsharp library.īut I discovered the iTextSharp library in my Googling session which seemed to provide this feature. So when I took up this task today morning, I first started browsing PdfSharp’s API in hope of finding the classes and methods needed to sign and verify pdf documents. We had been using the PdfSharp library extensively for various projects (one of which involved some complex pdf manipulation) with very good results. Simultaneously a module was supposed to created in the organization’s portal that would allow Vendors to upload such signed documents, which would be verified for their signatures before being forwarded to various departments for processing. We were supposed to develop an easy to use desktop application which would allow Vendors to sign their pdf documents intuitively before submitting them to the Institute. I would not go into the entire workflow here which is a bit complex, for simplicity you can assume the organization had the public keys for Vendors already stored in a secure database. The organization wanted to accept documents from its Vendors online through a portal and be able to verify that the documents indeed originated from a particular Vendor. Basically we were working on an online e-Tendering portal for a semi-government organization. While working on a project, we recently came across a requirement to be able to digitally sign pdf documents in C# code using a public/private key pair and later be able to verify the signature. The main reason why people get confused between these 2 species of snake is because of the “family resemblance”, so to speak. There are only a handful of small differences between them. According to Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, these two species have been on separate evolutionary paths for quite some time.īut even the most argumentative herpetologist will agree that they are very similar. The short answer is no, technically they are not the same. Do not pair them with someone who is going to get scared or shy away from them.4 What’s The Difference between a Python And An Anaconda? Are Pythons And Boa Constrictors The Same? Although some beginners do a good job caring for them, they do best with someone who has a basic understanding of caring for reptiles. Suitable For:īoa constrictors are suitable for almost all snake enthusiasts. Good options are paper, reptile carpet, or reptile bark. Use substrate that mimics their natural environment. The cage humidity should always remain between 60 and 70 percent. They do not require any special UV lighting but enjoy a diet with lots of vitamin D. Keep the tank’s heat between 78☏ to 85☏ with a basking spot that is at least 90☏. Provide boa snakes with plenty of hiding places with lots of logs and greenery. Snake experts consider them to be escape artists, and they will find their way out of their enclosure whenever given the opportunity. Although still fairly docile, these snakes are a lot harder to handle because they wiggle a lot more.īaby boa snakes are fine to house in a glass aquarium, but you’ll have to change it to a custom tank as they grow larger. They might also burrow themselves into their substrate. Even though they are good swimmers, they would rather spend time on dry land or hanging in a tree. They are also nocturnal, although they do come out occasionally during the day to sun themselves. Personalityīoa constrictors are solitary animals and enjoy keeping to themselves as much as possible. Once out, the young are left to fend for themselves. The snake eggs hatch while still inside the mother, who then gives birth to live babies. The boa females hold their eggs inside their bodies, where they also incubate them. Unlike pythons, boas are ovoviviparous, meaning that they do not lay eggs. Wild boas eat birds, pigs, and even monkeys when they’re lucky enough to catch one. They also eat nearly anything put in front of them. However, their teeth are hooked to help them latch onto their prey while they squeeze them. These snakes have smaller heads with fewer teeth and bones inside. They aren’t aggressive towards their handlers, but they are a lot more likely to defend themselves when they feel threatened as opposed to shying away from a fight. They can be red, tan, green, yellow, or have patterns with jagged lines, diamonds, and circles.īoas are a lot more active than pythons. These snakes are close cousins to anacondas and are excellent swimmers, even though they prefer to stay dry when they can. They make excellent pets because they aren’t aggressive and don’t wiggle around too much when holding them.īoa Overview Image Credit: Sean Blasko, ShutterstockĮven though a boa constrictor is usually smaller than many other python species, they tend to grow much larger when in captivity. Pythons prefer to spend their days in a docile state and shying away from too much commotion. Pythons are a little more afraid of confrontation than boa constrictors. This categorizes pythons as oviparous snakes. To reproduce, pythons must lay eggs and lay on them to incubate them until they are ready to hatch. Pythons also have the ability to sense heat using pits along their lips to detect even the tiniest differences when hunting warm-blooded prey. Even though most snakes only have one lung, both pythons and boas have two. Pythons have more bones in their head and a pair of upper jaw bones containing teeth. One of the biggest differences between pythons and boas is their anatomy. Some pythons have elaborate patterns, and others are solid colors like brown or bright green. The size and coloration of these snakes can vary depending on their natural habitats. The python family contains some of the biggest snakes in the world, topping out at over 33 feet long. Although pythons are similar to boas in that they constrict their bodies around their prey to kill them, they are two different species with distinctive characteristics. The name python refers to both the Pythonidae family and the Python genus. Pythons are considered animals from the Old World. Python Overview Image Credit: Jodi Erickso, ShutterstockĪlthough the idea of a large snake scares quite a few people, there are a few who don’t shy away from these unique animals. |
